  Why Locksmiths charge so much? I quite often get asked the question why do locksmiths charge so much, as most of the time they are only with a customer for a few moments and charge really high prices. Admittedly this can be true, however it is important that you know that a locksmith is the only trade where everything works against them, by this I mean that locks and doors are not meant to be opened unless you have the correct key to open them. Although we have various tools and methods to open certain locks and doors this is not full proof nor is it guaranteed to work. Snapped Key

  Had a call this morning as 3 flat mates managed to snap there key in the door and spent all night trying to remove the key, they eventually succumbed and called in the professionals. Have to admit this security escutcheon isn’t the easiest to work with as by design it spins making it difficult to work with, but I still got them in. Another Saturday night broken key extraction. Another snapped key this morning, this one was a deep one and took a while to extract it only to find that the lock was faulty and had to be replaced.
