This afternoon, Thanet Locksmiths responded to a call where a customer couldn't remove their key from an Ultion lock. As is sometimes necessary in these situations, we had to carefully cut the key and proceed with a full lock replacement.

Ultion locks are indeed excellent high-security products, known for their robust design. However, this case highlights a critical point: they absolutely require regular servicing as per the manufacturer's advice. Especially in coastal areas, where the sea can be just metres away, the salt-laden air significantly increases the risk of the internal mechanisms seizing up, as happened here. Proactive maintenance is vital to prevent such issues and ensure your high-security locks remain fully operational and reliable.
